Registration

Registration is closed

Thanks to a generous grant from the IL Petroleum Resource Board, ISTA continues to provide teachers with an Olympic style medallion and frameable certificate for their Outstanding Science Students.

ISTA member teachers can receive one medallion and certificate FREE by ordering through this site.

Be sure to include the name of the awardee. Allow two weeks for delivery.

ISTA members may order additional medalions at $15.00 each.

Nonmembers can order the medallions by completing the request form and making payment per directions on the form.

The Medallions are on a red, white, and blue ribbon lanyard and they state EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE on one side and have the ISTA logo on the other side. There is room for engraving a name, which must be done locally.

ISTA thanks the IL Petroleum Resources Board for their ongoing grants for these awards.

 ISTA Conference Grant Opportunity

This fund will provide support to attend the 2018 ISTA Annual Conference (October 19-20)   to teachers in need.

The following must be fulfilled by September 15, 2018 at 11:59pm:

 - A letter of interest from the applying teacher detailing why conference attendance wouldn't     be possible without this grant (300 words),

 - A statement from the applying teacher explaining how they have worked to improve their   classroom instruction through NGSS implementation (showing examples is a plus) (300   words), and

 - a letter from your administrator explaining the need for substitute teacher   reimbursement     and their support of the applying teacher to attend the conference.

Please send all of the above in a single document (MS Word or PDF formats   recommended) to Dr. Bridina Lemmer at ilscienceassessment@gmail.com.  Late   applications will not be accepted.  Funds in the amount of $250 (conference registration   and substitute teacher stipend) will be distributed as reimbursement to the applicant's   school district after they have attended the conference on October 19th and/or October   20th.

Ronald and Charleen Crean raised two sons, both of whom are teachers.  They were

always dedicated to the education of young people and found it important to support

teachers everywhere.  This fund will be used to support science teachers via attendance

at the annual ISTA Conference.  This aligns with the ISTA mission to provide professional

support to Illinois teachers so they may provide excellence in science education to Illinois

students state-wide.
